Elizabeth knows the legislative and administrative process, and helps her clients think strategically about their futures. She believes that every American should have a voice in the political process.

Elizabeth began her career in Washington, DC as a Winston Health Policy Fellow, completing a long-term placement with the Senate Finance Committee’s Health Policy team under Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT). As part of the Winston Fellowship, Elizabeth participated in over 150 informational interviews with health policy leaders, in both the public and private sector, working for the government, think tanks, foundations, corporations, and other organizations. She characterizes this process as a “fifth year” of grad school. While with the Finance Committee, Elizabeth was able to assist with drafting legislation, staffing the Chairman, conducting hearings, and generally seeing “how the sausage is made.”

Elizabeth also took a sabbatical from her legal career to help elect Senator Tina Smith (D-MN) in 2018. While with Tina Smith for Minnesota, Elizabeth worked as the Surrogate and Validator Director. In this position, she developed local and national surrogates and organized events related to showcase their support for Senator Smith.

Elizabeth continues to stay engaged in the advocacy process. She represents her clients in meetings with Members of Congress and the Administration. She staffs witnesses testifying before congressional hearings. She helps clients prepare comments to regulations and guidance, and respond to requests for information from the government.
